Final Report

  • Report due: By 5pm, June 7th (Wednesday)
  • Email your report to the staff mailing list: cs349f-spr2223-staff@lists.stanford.edu. Make sure it has your name.
  • Please refer to Lecture 1 for the instructions on report. The deadline on the slides is June 6th. We extend that to June 7th.
  • We've had a few questions about the final project: what is a suitable topic? how long should the write-up be? Here’re some suggestions and guidelines:
The project is a report on a topic relevant to the course. We’re looking for a thoughtful two-pager. If you've full attendance, a very good 1-pager will do so long as it's clear and well-written. So, not much---just a good, insightful summary.
    For topics, you could choose:
    • One of the papers we presented in the course. Or, a paper related to the topics of those papers.
    • A book or essay on finance or Fintech you’ve read. For example, the aforementioned Michael Lewis (Liar’s Poker, The Flash Boys or The Big Short) and Niall Ferguson (The Ascent of Money) in class.
    • A guest lecture's topic or a derivative of it.
    • Hope this helps. If in doubt regarding the suitability of a topic, please reach out to us.
